Chris Meredith 'Therapeutic Poet' making a difference to the lives of our Residents!

17 January 2017

Therapeutic Poetry works primarily by evoking an emotional response through the process of creativity, sharing, and listening. Poetry and literature just like art, music, drama and dance have the unique ability to touch people very deeply.

Our New Year
© Chris Meredith 2017
(Inspired by the residents of Glebe House)

As a new year has arrived
And spring is quietly yawning
We look forward to feeling alive
As we wake on a summer morning
-
The year ahead looks to be a vintage one
With weddings of daughters and nephews
No new year resolutions will be done
As our lives contain no curfews
-
Diets are temporary fads
We would rather dance at Blackpool's ballroom
Than sticking to a diet which will make us sad
So much better to dance and chase away gloom
-
This year we will spend with family
Right up until the next New Year's Eve
And enjoy each other's company
With all the residents and staff at Glebe
