One of our Residents was inspired to write a lovely poem about her 90th Birthday:
12 July 2016
My 90th Birthday
By Beryl.
I had my 90th birthday
on the 13th day of June
We all enjoy our birthdays,
But they come around too soon!
I had a lovely party
With family and friends
I thought I'm really enjoying this
I'll be sorry when it ends!
My daughter hired a singer
To entertain us all
He's been here several times before
His name is Paul
Then Andy took me into his arms
And we danced a step or two
Time was when I would
Dance and twirl the night
Through!
I had some lovely presents, chocolates,
Flowers and some wine
And some exotic perfumes
That made me smell divine!
I also had some birthday cards
About 34
And in order to display them
I've stuck them on my door!
We had a celebration lunch
For the Jubilee
But I'd rather like to think
It was meant for me!
On the Wednesday we
Went to Eastbourne
To a hotel called The Grand
We had a sumptuous
4 course meal
And listened to the band
They played a Happy Birthday
As I sipped my cool champagne
It really is a lovely place
I'd like to come again
Now my birthdays over
And all my friends have gone
But time goes by so quickly
I'll soon be 91!
